Mark Solomon serves as Council Member for the City of Richardson, having been elected in 2009. Solomon is the owner of Assurnet Insurance Agency, an independent insurance agency located in Richardson. Prior to his election to City Council, he was vice chairman and member of the City Parks and Recreation Commission for six years. He received his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and his master's degree in education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Solomon serves on the board of directors of the Professional Insurance Agents of Texas, and is a member of the Dallas-Park Cities Philatelic Society, Richardson Central Kiwanis Club and the Yale Park Homeowners Association and is active in the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and Spring Valley United Methodist Church. Previously, Solomon served as president of the L. V. Berkner High School booster club and PTA where he was awarded the honorary lifetime membership in the Texas PTA. He and his wife, Lynn, who is employed by Region 10 Service Center in Richardson, have two children and three grandchildren.
