Enzo’s observations throughout the novel provide insight into his world view. For example

“The visible becomes invisible”

“Understanding the truth is simple. Allowing oneself to experience it, is
often terrifically difficult.”

“No race has ever been won in the first corner; many races have been lost
there.”

Despite whatever personal failings Mortenson might have, he is the poster child for strength of character and faith. If I had met Mortenson right after he got back from promising Korphe a school building, I'm afraid that I would have assumed that he was a nut if I saw him learning how to type letters to 500 celebrities asking for money, living in his car to save money for the school etc. And then... to keep right on with the project after he found out that he would have to first build a bridge... and to keep on going after his building supplies were stolen...

If this were a novel instead of a true story, I might have thought that the author intended a parallel with Job. Simple, almost childlike faith in a greater good outside of one's self really did move mountains in Three Cups of Tea-- or at least transformed those mountains.
