Group picnics and parties in the park - Group parties and picnics are always popular during the spring, summer and fall months. Many parks in Richardson are suitable for get-togethers. With the exception of 5 park pavilions and one gazebo, all parks are available for such gatherings on a first-come, first-served basis.

Huffhines, Crowley, Cottonwood, and Breckinridge park pavilions may be reserved.  To reserve any of these facilities, follow these guidelines:

• You must be a Richardson, Texas resident
• The party for which you are reserving must be 25 members or greater  
• All charcoal used for burning must be brought by you, as well as sand and water to extinguish it
• Reservations may be made up to 90 days in advance and at least 2 days in advance
• No alcohol or amplification of sound is allowed in the park
• Call Heights Recreation Center at 972-744-7850 or Huffhines Recreation Center at 972-744-7881 for reservation information.

Breckinridge Fire Circle - This is a great place to hold Scout ceremonies. The fire circle is located at Breckinridge Park in far North East Richardson on Brand Road. (Parking in area "C"). Reservations can be made for the use of the fire circle by calling Heights Recreation Center at 972-744-7850 or Huffhines Recreation Center at 972-744-7881.
