The City of Richardson has five outdoor pools for public swimming. In addition to the main pools, the Arapaho Pool and the Glenville Pool each have a splash playground- the other three pools have baby pools. Scheduled Learn-to-Swim and Lifesaving classes are taught by Red Cross certified instructors. A fee is charged based on the individual class.

Cottonwood, Canyon Creek, Terrace, and Glenville Pools will close for the season after Sunday, August 16. Arapaho Pool will remain open from 1 - 9 p.m. every day except Wednesday for the following week, closing on the day before school, Sunday, August 23. It will remain closed during the week, then open August 29, 30, then again on Sept. 5,6,7, after which the pool will be closed for the 2009 season.
Season passes are available at all city pools for only $30.00 for the season, and $2.00 for individual daily gate fees. Children under five are free.
Pool phones are operational only during the summer swim season.
Lessons:
Learn-to-swim classes are taught during the summer. Each session guaranties eight lessons, five days a week for two weeks. Morning and evening classes are available. Lessons are $45 unless otherwise specified in the Recreation Catalog.
Reservations:
During the summer months, pools may be reserved before and after public service hours for private parties. We will start taking reservations from Richardson residents on Thursday, May 1, 2008, at 9:00 am. Call the Aquatics Office at 972-744-7893 or email us at poolreservations@cor.gov. Fees are charged based on the size of the group. The splash playground area is also available for rental. Reservations must be made by Richardson residents.
