General Information:
The Street Division is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the street, alley and storm sewer systems in the city of Richardson. In addition to maintenance services, the division is responsible for the minor construction in cases involving alley, curb and street failures.
The division also maintains the structural integrity of screening walls and removes debris and obstructions from the upstream sides of all bridges and culverts to eliminate any restrictions to storm-water flow.
The division also removes trees from streets and alleys and sands the streets due to inclement weather.
Streets - Eastside is responsible the East side of 75 in Richardson.

A Few of Our Accomplishments in 2008
- Repairs:
- Crews completed 2,658 job orders
- Placed approximately 3,981 tons of asphalt hot mix
- 26,305 man hours patching potholes
- 722 man hours cleaning dirt and gravel from street gutters
- 1,994 man hours repairing curbs and gutters
- 2,924 man hours hauling spoils from the transfer station to the landfills
- 1,080 man hours cleaning out and under inlets and bridges
- Poured 877.5 cubic yards of concrete
- 20,428 square feet of street and alley failures repaired
- 1,211 man hours repairing utility cuts
- 463.50 man hours sanding streets
- 1,579.5 man hours working for other departments
- Installed 17 handicap ramps
- Remove and replace 691 square feet of sidewalk
- Clean Sweeps (Repairing street failures)
- Contractor Work
- Annual Street Leveling Contract corrected water pockets at 85 different locations.
- Annual Crack Sealing Contract sealed over 119 streets and 111 alleys
- Continue replacing old alleys with new 10-foot alleys.
- Repair various concrete failures under annual concrete contract.
