What Is Trash Bash?

The City of Richardson's annual Trash Bash event will occur April 7, 2018. The event is held in conjunction with Keep Texas Beautiful, and is open to anyone wishing to help clean up the community.

All participants will meet at their designated clean up location on the morning of the event to fill their bags with litter and recyclables. After area clean up, participants will join together at the Richardson Civic Center, 411 W. Arapaho Rd., for an appreciation event.

Trash Bash Schedule

Beginning at 9 a.m.
Outside the Richardson Civic Center

Book Drive
Acceptable items include: books, magazines, CDs & DVDs

Clothing Drive
Acceptable items include: clothing, shoes, coats, accessories (gently used & washed). NO undergarments.
Please place in plastic bags or sacks. No trash bags please.

Free Texas Pure Compost
One bag per vehicle.

Cease the Grease
Residential cooking oil drop off.
Bring in non-breakable, disposable containers that you can leave behind.

Electronics Recycling
Acceptable electronics for recycling include: personal and home electronics, home office equipment and automobile electronics. CRT TVs or computer monitors cannot be accepted. Flat screen monitors and televisions are OK.
No hazardous waste items will be accepted. This includes, but is not limited to, batteries, paint, cleaners and fluorescent bulbs. Visit for more information on hazardous waste disposal.

Document Shredding
Personal shredding will be limited to what can fit into a car. Your documents will be destroyed on site, safely and securely by a commercial shredding company. There is no charge to drop off your unwanted electronic items and personal shredding for recycling, but donations are encouraged for the RCPAAA, a 501(c)(3) tax deductible charitable organization.

Join us in the plaza for a group butterfly release!

3 p.m. - Nature Walk led by Richardson's Parks & Recreation Department
Enjoy this 90-minute walk through CityLine and the Spring Creek Nature area as you learn about the nature and wildlife of the areas. Walk begins at 3 p.m. at the OVER THE MOON sculpture in the CityLine Plaza.
