Santa’s Village, a tiny town of 16 holiday dwellings on the north side of City Hall, is a holiday tradition for families from Richardson and beyond. Each colorful building offers children a fun activity and even a visit with Santa Claus! Attendees can also enjoy live performances, holiday photo ops and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or a snack.
With everything from a post office to a pet shop and TV station, it takes a whole town of volunteers to keep Santa’s Village up and running. Volunteers arrive before the village opens to begin preparing for visitors. Most of our volunteers are affiliated with an organization that sponsors a particular building or activity, but some volunteer through the City of Richardson to fill in where needed.
Over the 10-night duration of Santa’s Village, the City of Richardson relies on 115 volunteers a night who contribute a total of 4,025 hours. We are extremely grateful for the commitment, hard work and never-ending similes of our volunteers to help children and their families celebrate the holiday season!
