We are here to help you get your baby started on his/her book-loving journey!  We offer knowledgeable staff and many great resources, all for free. Early Literacy Resources Available at the Library

AWE ELS Station

The Early Literacy Station (ELS) is an all-in-one, touchscreen computer, safe and secure, designed specifically for children ages 2-8. This child friendly learning computer features 70+ educational software programs and hundreds of activities spanning seven curricular subject areas. 


Peekabook Station


Your very own storytime is waiting just for you at Richardson Public Library with Peek-A-Book. It's storytime-on-demand! Children ages 3-8 are invited to visit the Peek-A-Book kioisk, sit back, and listen as the pages of a picture book unfold.



Early Literacy Kits

Early Literacy Kits help support your role as your child's first literacy teacher. Each kit contains 5 books and a music CD to 

encourage the development of pre-literacy skills: Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing, and Playing. (Every Child Ready to Read).
