Q. How soon can I expect to receive the information requested?

A. The officer of public information must promptly produce public information. Promptly means that the governmental body may take a reasonable amount of time to produce the information. If the request requires additional time to gather, the Open Records Officer will contact the requestor in writing to advise when the documents will be available.

Q. Can I view the documents without paying for copies?

A. Yes. The requestor must indicate the desire to inspect the documents in the original request:
The requestor must complete the inspection within ten business days after the date the documents are made available or the request will be considered withdrawn. Documents that require redactions will be charged at a cost of $.10 per page. Personnel charges may be assessed if the records to be inspected are older than 5 years or the records fill 6 or more archival boxes when assembled, and if it takes more than 5 hours to prepare the records for inspection.
