The Richardson City Council gathered for a special ceremony at Terrace Park in November to celebrate the official start of the 2010 Bond Program, which is now well underway with the start of construction on some projects while others have already started design or planning phases.
Construction on the first 2010 Bond Program project started in September with a sidewalk replacement project in the Greenwood Hills neighborhood. Work there should be complete before the end of the year.
As part of the November celebration, the Council placed a bronze medallion in the concrete of a new sidewalk located at Terrace Park, near the intersection of North Grove Road and LaSalle Drive. The medallion, installed by Mayor Gary Slagel, is the first of many that will be placed at each of the project sites associated with the 2010 Bond Program. The markers will serve as a symbol of community support for the reinvestment approved by voters last May.
