A Temporary Open Air Market....
- is an ongoing temporary marketplace for vendors offering produce, food, or other products for sale
- is managed by a permitted Temporary Open Air Market Operator; and,
- consists of individually permitted vendors (vendors must obtain approval from the market operator)
The Temporary Open Air Market Operator and all market Vendors are required to obtain a health permit.
Vendors are responsible for obtaining approval from the market operator, and a health permit consistent with their type.
Vendor and Concession Permits are valid for a period of ONE YEAR from date applied for permit.
There are 3 types of temporary open air market vendors (you must choose ONE on the online application):
FOOD VENDOR/COTTAGE FOOD VENDOR WITH SAMPLING
A vendor who offers, sells, or samples prepackaged foods at an approved open air market. Food offered does not require time or temperature control for safety. Type of food includes:
- whole produce
- approved meats
- pasteurized dairy
CONCESSION FOOD VENDOR
A vendor who prepares, offers, serves, or sells ready to eat foods, and foods requiring time or temperature control for safety.
Food is intended to be consumed on site at time of purchase.
NON-FOOD VENDOR/COTTAGE FOOD VENDOR - NO SAMPLING
A vendor who offers, or sells any non-food or Cottage Food item. Handling of food or providing samples is not permitted.
Non-food/Cottage Food Vendors can email the pdf application to the Health Department.
