Several local charities partnered with the City of Richardson are on the list to benefit from North Texas Giving Day, the nation’s largest day for philanthropic donations. The Network of Community Ministries, the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, Friends of the Richardson Library, the Eisemann Center Foundation, Arts Incubator of Richardson, Special Olympics of Texas, the Richardson Adult Literacy Center and the Richardson East Rotary Club Foundation (RERC) are all nonprofits in Richardson that are signed up to receive donations from willing benefactors looking to make a tax-deductible difference. While funds raised for these organizations during the event will go to supporting their everyday mission, the funds raised by the RERC will help construct the City’s new inclusive playground planned for Cottonwood Park.
North Texas giving day is set for Thursday, Sept. 14. This is the ninth year for the event. Last year the Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day generated $37 million in donations benefitting 16 counties of North Texas.
