During the spring season weather can have an impact on Bush Central Barkway. To protect the special turf that is required at the dog park, heavy rain can cause the park to be closed for temporary periods of time. To check the status of the Barkway, the weather hotline is frequently updated at 972-744-4301. Updates are also posted on the Parks & Recreation Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/RichardsonParksandRec.
With the nice weather, we are getting many inquiries about reserving parks for special occasions. Pavilions can be reserved for parties and events at Breckinridge, Cottonwood, Crowley and Huffhines Parks along with Discovery Point at Prairie Creek Park. Other park pavilions can be used on a first-come first-serve basis. Please contact Heights or Huffhines Recreation Center for more information.
