Mark your calendars for Saturday morning, December 2nd, for the 45th Annual Richardson Christmas Parade benefitting the Network of Community Ministries. This year's parade theme is Magical, Musical Christmas! Individuals and groups are encouraged to represent this theme with their costumes, vehicles and floats. The parade will begin at 9:00 AM and will travel north from Richardson Square shopping center on Plano Road to Apollo Road and will disband at the Huffhines Ballfield parking lot. Come kick off the holiday season and get in the Christmas spirit by participating in this exciting, annual event! Registration form and parade rules may be downloaded here after November 1st.

Would you like to become a Friend of the Parade? There are two levels for your convenience:
VIP Silver package ($40 – good for 2 people) and VIP Gold package ($60 – good for 4 people) includes a friends’ parking pass, VIP seating, VIP Hospitality at Parade to include refreshments and a gift card that will go directly to a recipient of Network. Friends of The Parade Registration Form

We hope to see you at the parade whether you are on a float, in a marching group or a spectator! Remember, December 2 at 9:00 AM, Plano Road is the place to be! The Parade’s Award Ceremony will be held the same evening at 5:00 PM just prior to the City’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and the opening of Santa’s Village.
Specialty Trophy Categories!
Mayor’s Award – Given to the overall outstanding entry presenting and illustrating the parade theme “Magical, Musical Christmas.”
Grand Marshal’s Award – Given to the entry that has the best overall originality, creativity, appearance and uniqueness of decorations.
Chairman’s Elf Award – Given to the outstanding entry featuring children as the main part of the display.
Spirit Award – Given to the entry that has the most enthusiasm during the parade.
Spectacular Sparkles Award – Given to the entry that presents an outstanding display of glitter, shimmer or shine!
Performance Award – Given to the entry that does an outstanding, entertaining, crowd-pleasing performance during the parade!
Spirit of Giving Award – Given to the entry that went above and beyond in their fundraising effort (bake sale, garage sale, car wash, etc.) for the parade entry fee to benefit Network of Community Ministries.
Theme-a-rific Award – Given to the individual who stepped up and decked out their stroller in the Magical, Musical Christmas theme. (Don’t have time to decorate a float? Well, show up with your decorated stroller! You will be grouped with other stroller entries but judged individually. Be sure to incorporate the Magical, Musical Christmas theme into your display for a chance to win!)
