The hours of operation are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Closed Major Holidays.
Mission Statement: To provide for the safe, secure preservation and prompt return of all recovered property and vehicles, and to provide for the proper disposition/disposal of all property while maintaining the chain of custody.
The Property & Evidence Section's primary responsibility is to intake, inventory and store property and evidence while maintaining meticulous documentation in order to preserve the chain of custody for each item impounded and to review and research case information to obtain final dispositions in accordance with state law and procedure.
The Property & Evidence Section is supervised by D. Green and employs two Property & Evidence Technicians that keep the wheels of progress ever turning.

Vehicles that are impounded by the Richardson Police Department are taken to the City of Richardson’s contracted Vehicle Impound Facility. The Vehicle Impound Facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Vehicle Impound Facility is operated by and located at:
