The Health Department inspects Registered Family Homes and Commercial Day Care Centers to ensure that quality child care is being provided. Inspections, which are conducted at least twice per year, emphasize safety as well as disease prevention through good sanitation practices. All areas used by children are monitored. In addition, routine inspections will ensure that no more than the appropriate number of children are present. Immunization and enrollment records are examined for completeness and to ensure that children are properly immunized.
