The City of Richardson today launched its new cultural arts website, www.ArtsInRichardson.com, which is designed to serve as a one-stop shop for information on cultural events and programs throughout the community.
Last year, the City developed its first-ever Cultural Arts Master Plan to set the stage for support of arts in the community. The creation of an online portal to promote and support linkages among Richardson’s numerous arts organizations, facilities, programs and signature events was one of the priority projects identified in the plan.
“ArtsInRichardson.com reflects the strategic approach identified in our Cultural Arts Master Plan, which is focused on supporting our wonderful cultural arts scene in Richardson,” said Richardson Mayor Laura Maczka. “A healthy cultural arts environment is one of the hallmarks of any great community, and we are justifiably proud of Richardson’s vibrant arts environment. We believe this new site will help build synergies among the various performance arts groups that perform here, while also serving as a valuable resource to residents and visitors seeking cultural arts opportunities.”
Visitors to the site can search for events by keywords, organizations or dates, and can even purchase admission to ticketed events through the site. The site will also include photos and videos of past and upcoming events. A total of 35 local organizations will regularly populate the website with their latest news and events. Artsopolis, widely considered the nation’s leading designer for communities promoting local arts and culture, designed the new site. The site was developed and funded by the City in conjunction with the Arts Commission.
