Miss Texas Pageant Brings Crowds to Richardson
A packed house at the Eisemann Center watched the crowning of the 2014 Miss Texas and Miss Texas Outstanding Teen on Saturday evening. Monique Evans, representing Park Cities, earned the title of Miss Texas, and Kassidy Brown, representing Dallas, is the new Miss Texas Outstanding Teen. The winners were selected after nearly a week of preliminary competitions that were also held at the Eisemann Center.

Miss Texas Crowning
The pageant concluded in front of a sold-out audience on Saturday, and crowds from across the state filled the Eisemann Center during the preliminary competitions. The event sold out all of the rooms at the Renaissance, its host hotel, and dozens of visitors overflowed to the Marriott Residence Inn and other local hotels during their stay in Richardson.

After hosting a successful pageant, Richardson is hoping to be selected as the location for the event next year and beyond. Learn more about the Miss Texas pageant at

Richardson Animal Shelter Pet of the Week
Hershey Pet of Week

Meet Hershey! This lovable lab is about 8 years old, neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, house trained and leash trained. He's been at the Shelter over 3 months and we know he would make someone a great family pet. He may have some gray around his muzzle but his heart is pure gold.

For information about other animals available for adoption, visit the Animal Shelter’s Facebook page at
