The City’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will conduct a three-minute test of its Outdoor Warning System Wednesday at noon. OEM conducts a 30-second test of the Outdoor Warning System the first Wednesday of each month, with a full three-minute test at least once per year. The full test allows the system to work through one complete warning cycle as would be done during times of emergency.
As a reminder, citizens are not expected to hear these sirens from inside a house or building. Their primary purpose is to move citizens indoors and allow them to seek shelter and more information.
The test will be rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 7 if there is inclement weather or overcast skies in the area during the scheduled time for the test. For more information on the Outdoor Warning System, visit www.cor.net/sirens or call 972-744-0900 to speak with an OEM representative.
