City Secretary's Office Releases Candidate Filings

Filing to run for open Richardson City Council places ended at 5 p.m. today, March 1, 2013. The race for Place 7 Mayor is the only contested race for the municipal election set for this May.

Although Places 1 through 6 are unopposed, the names of candidates will still appear on the ballot along with the candidates for Mayor. A drawing to determine the order of names on the ballot for the position of mayor will take place in the City Secretary’s Office at Richardson City Hall at 411 W. Arapaho Rd., on March 7 at 4 p.m.

The City of Richardson will hold an Election on May 11, 2013 for Mayor and the expiring terms of six City Council Members.

In order to vote in the May election, voters must submit their voter registration application to the Voter Registrar of the county they reside in by April 11, 2013. Voter registration cards are available in the City Secretary’s office at Richardson City Hall or the Texas Secretary of State website at 
 http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/reqvr.shtml.

Early voting will take place at Richardson City Hall/Civic Center, 411 W. Arapaho Rd., Richardson, Texas 75080 on the following dates and times:

Monday, April 29-Friday, May 3  8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  
Saturday, May 4  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
Sunday, May 5  1 p.m. to 6 p.m. 
Monday, May 6-Tuesday, May 7  7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

 
Election Day voting will take place Saturday, May 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the location designated for your precinct. Precinct locations will be provided prior to Election Day.

Special Voting Instructions for Richardson Residents Living in Collin County
Richardson residents who live in Collin County and wish to take part in the Plano Independent School District school board election must use Collin County polling locations to do so. In order to participate in the Richardson municipal election, Richardson Residents living in Collin County must visit a Dallas County polling location either for early voting or on the May 11 Election Day.
