The City Council’s first public hearing on the proposed 2013-2014 Budget will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, with a second hearing scheduled for Monday, Aug. 26.
The theme of this year’s budget is “Maintaining a Solid Foundation,” and it emphasizes reinvestment in infrastructure through improved maintenance for streets, City facilities and parks. It is supported by a proposed tax rate of $0.63516 per $100 of assessed valuation, unchanged from the 2012-2013 rate.
All budget meetings are open to the public. In addition, the meetings are also broadcast live on CITV (Channel 16 on Time Warner and Channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse) and on the City website, cor.net. City Council videos and documents are also available on-demand on the City’s website.
