Workers are set to begin pavement repair work on Arapaho Road the evening of Sunday, Oct. 15. Work will take place on eastbound and westbound Arapaho Road from US 75 to Hampshire Lane, as well as at the intersection of Arapaho Road and Coit Road. Much of the work will take place overnight to minimize traffic delays.
The project will be carried out in three phases:
- Asphalt Removal – Crews will remove up to 2 inches of asphalt from the road beginning Sunday, Oct. 15. Work will be carried out daily from 8 p.m.-5 a.m.
- Concrete Repair – Following the asphalt removal, the underlying concrete will be repaired where necessary. Work will take place from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Asphalt Overlay – Workers will reapply 2 inches of asphalt. Work will be carried out from 8 p.m.-5 a.m.
All lanes will be open during the day except during concrete repairs. While concrete work is being done, two lanes will remain open during peak travel times, with one lane open during non-peak times. The project is expected to last up to six weeks, weather permitting.
This project is funded through the 2017-18 Budget, which includes $4.9 million for street and alley maintenance. For more information on this project, as well as other infrastructure projects in Richardson, visit www.cor.net/projects
