The Richardson Police Department is now accepting applications for the Youth Citizen Police Academy. This free program offers youth ages 14 through 17 the opportunity to learn about the police department's operations. The academy is a week long interactive class that meets four hours each day from 8:30am - 12:30pm. Subjects are presented by detectives and officers and include Crime Scene, SWAT, K-9, Patrol Tactics, Anti-Bullying and Decision Making to name just a few. This program is open to those that live in Richardson or attend a school in the Richardson Independent School District. Applications must be received by June 1st.
