RICHARDSON’S BUSH CENTRAL BARKWAY DOG PARK AND BRECKINRIDGE PARK TEMPORARILY CLOSED
Parks will reopen once weather conditions allow
The City of Richardson’s Bush Central Barkway dog park and Breckinridge Park are closed due to recent rains.
Parks and recreation staff say standing water at Breckinridge Park and soggy ground conditions at Bush Central Barkway are the primary concerns.
Flooded conditions at Breckinridge Park cause safety concerns and Richardson’s Bush Central Barkway is treated like an athletic field due to the sensitivity of the turf at the dog park. Turf is more susceptible to damage from foot traffic when it is soggy, so the park has been closed to protect the grass until the soil has an opportunity to dry enough to protect the grounds.
Park maintenance personnel say both parks will reopen as soon as possible.
