Bush Central Barkway and Breckinridge Closed

Update: Bush Central Barkway is now operating under regular hours.

Saturated ground conditions at the City of Richardson’s Bush Central Barkway dog park and flooding at Breckinridge Park has forced the City’s Parks and Recreation Department to close the facilities until further notice.

Breckinridge Park
Breckinridge Park’s three main parking areas are closed, and pedestrians accessing the park are asked to use caution if traversing on the trail system due to muddy and slick conditions created by overnight storms.

Bush Central Barkway
Richardson’s Bush Central Barkway is treated like an athletic field due to the sensitivity of the turf at the dog park. Turf is more susceptible to damage from foot traffic when it is soggy, so the park has been closed to protect the grass until the soil has an opportunity to dry enough to protect the grounds.

Richardson’s Bush Central Barkway is located at 3851 S. Central Expressway under the interchange for the President George Bush Turnpike and Central Expressway. Breckinridge Park is located southwest of the intersection of Renner and Brand Roads.
