Twitter has been around for years, and the Richardson Police Department is active on social media already, but recently, the Department has been identifying opportunities to build upon it's public communication initiatives.

Chief Spivey said, "I think Twitter offers an efficient way for our citizens and businesses to see some of the community programs I attend and allows me to share my thoughts on what we are doing as a Department. It's about keeping pace with technology and connecting with people that I may not have the chance to speak with in person."

Chief Spivey's Twitter account will not be monitored 24/7, you can expect "tweets" when the Chief has comments to share about the Department and his activities at work. Chief Spivey hopes that followers will find it engaging.
