Vigil to be Held Sunday as Community Supports Fallen Police Officer
Flowers, cards and other messages from the community continue to arrive at the Richardson Police Department where brethren of Officer David Sherrard continue to mourn his loss. Officer Sherrard was a 13-year veteran of the Department and fell in the line of duty Wednesday night while responding to a disturbance call.
A vigil for Officer Sherrard has been scheduled to take place Sunday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. It will be held at the fountain just east of the Richardson Public Library at 411 W. Arapaho Rd. Parking for the vigil is available at the Arapaho DART Station with shuttle service beginning at 4:15 p.m. The community is also asked to tie blue ribbons at homes or businesses to show their support. Today Gov. Greg Abbott also ordered Texas flags in the City of Richardson to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Officer Sherrard.
Visitation for Officer Sherrard is being held Monday, Feb. 12 at First Baptist Richardson (1001 N. Central Expressway) from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services for Officer Sherrard will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Watermark Community Church located at 7540 LBJ Fwy., Dallas.
