Bringing the community together with Bridges

Post Date:03/26/2019 2:30 PM

A new multicultural program in Richardson is helping to build artistic bridges and break down cultural barriers with a series of events at the Repertory Company Theatre.

The multicultural arts program is called Bridges and recently brought families together with an arts festival that included cultural fashion, dancers, musicians and artists.

Bridges is funded by a special grant from the Ann and Charles Eisemann Arts Innovation Initiative.

“It is important to us to see Richardson continue to be an innovative place. Richardson has thrived for years on reinventing itself. We think it’s time to reinvent the arts and that is what we are trying to encourage and fortunately the city has been extremely supportive of this,” said Eisemann.

In addition to partnering with existing artists, arts groups and businesses, such as the Dallas Chinese Community Center, the Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation and the Islamic Art Revival

Series, the Bridges Multicultural Arts Festival is introducing Broadway Musicals and theater arts to all cultural groups in the hopes of strengthening the community unity.
