Poinsettia Christmas Tree on Display

Post Date:12/05/2019 12:13 PM

The annual Poinsettia Christmas Tree inside the Richardson City Hall/Civic Center is now on display.

Crews with Richardson’s Parks and Recreation Department helped set up the tree.  More than 300 poinsettias are being used for the holiday display.

“It really does put everyone in the holiday spirit, and we welcome all families to come and enjoy the beauty and really appreciate the Christmas season and appreciate each other,” said Donna Leach, manager of the Richardson Civic Center.

The Poinsettia Christmas Tree has been on display for about 35 years and has become a long-time holiday tradition for many families.

Residents are invited to stop by and view the tree, which is located at 411 W. Arapaho Rd.

The Poinsettia Christmas Tree is just part of the holiday festivities in the City.  On Saturday, Dec. 7 is the 47th annual Christmas Parade, which kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Richardson Square Mall and benefits the Network of Community Ministries.  Also, on Saturday Dec. 7 Santa’s Village officially opens.  The tiny town of 16 holiday dwellings on the north side of City Hall offers children free activities and even a visit from Santa. Santa’s Village opens to the public Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Dec. 22.
