RISD District-Wide Student Art Exhibit
This annual exhibition of artwork by Richardson Independent School District students was created by the Eisemann Educates program and provides a venue for young artists to showcase their talents and get a taste of life as a professional artist. A reception at the Gallery honoring the students takes place Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 5-6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Time: Monday-Friday noon-5 p.m. and during all public events. (open through Feb. 27)

Feb. 17
“Blue Jelly” Opens at University Theatre at UT Dallas
In this original play written and directed by UT Dallas Theatre Program Director Thomas Riccio, a scientist, doing experiments to understand the seven-second phenomenon of déjà vu, makes a discovery. Déjà vu is not an event. It is not what it was thought to be, and eerie feeling of having experienced something before. It is a place where all that was and will ever be exists, a gelatinous parallel world encased in blue jelly. (Some aspects of the show may contain mature content).
Time: 8 p.m.

“It Happened One Night” at The Core Theatre
In this original adaptation of the screen play by Robert Riskin and the short story by Samuel Hopkins Adams, a renegade reporter trailing a young runaway heiress for a big story joins her on a bus heading from Florida to New York, and they end up stuck with each other when a bus leaves them behind at one of the stops. The play is being restaged by the company after its 2016 premiere at The Core Theatre.
Time: 8 p.m.
Location: The Core Theatre, 518 W. Arapaho, Ste. 115
Admission: Ticketed event. $15-$25 per person.

PSO: “Cirque de la Symphonie”
The Plano Symphony Orchestra performs classical favorites accompanied by a variety of minimalist circus acts synchronized to the music. The circus artists, veterans of programs throughout the world, include aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers and strongmen.

Learn about Landscaping with Biodiversity
North Texas Master Naturalists Sean and Chrissy Cortez—Mathis will share their story of transitioning their Richardson property from a lawn into pathways and plants, and how this shift brought sustainability and biodiversity to their property and the surrounding neighborhood. Participants will receive seeds and cuttings to add to their own gardens.

RCAS Exhibit at Richardson City Hall/Civic Center
The Richardson Civic Art Society has installed a new exhibit on the north wall of the City Hall/Civic Center’s main hallway, featuring 19 paintings created by RCAS members. The colorful display includes framed creations of varying sizes, with subjects including still life, crashing waves, a pensive gorilla, rodeo life, a Paris streetscape and more. Most are available for purchase; contact information is posted within the exhibit.

SP/N Gallery Exhibit: "Printmaking Concepts: The Surprise at the "Other End of the Press"
This exhibit explores the inter-relationship of printmaking with other contemporary art media (drawing, painting, sculpture, video and photography); as well as fresh approaches regarding new and traditional printmaking concepts.
