Eisemann Center 

The TEN Tenors

An Australian music ensemble, The TEN Tenors, has toured extensively nationally and internationally and released 15 albums and 4 DVDs. This will be The TEN Tenors’ third time performing at the Eisemann Center. The current line up is: Cameron Barclay, Daniel Belle, Michael Dimovski, Michael Edwards, Adrian Li Donni, Jarad Newell, Boyd Owen, JD Smith, Riley Sutton and Sam Ward.

Time: 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Dallas College Celebrates Black History Month with Ilyasah Shabazz Ilyasah Shabazz

Dallas College invites the public to celebrate Black History Month with a presentation by award-wining author and educator Ilyasah Shabazz. She will discuss the importance of history and the role her parents, Malcom X and Dr. Betty Shabazz, have played in it.

RISD District-Wide Student Art Exhibit 

This annual exhibition of artwork by Richardson Independent School District students was created by the Eisemann Educates program and provides a venue for young artists to showcase their talents and get a taste of life as a professional artist. A reception at the Gallery honoring the students takes place Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 5-6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. 

Time: Monday-Friday noon-5 p.m. and during all public events. (Open through Feb. 27)

“Blue Jelly” at University Theatre

In this original play written and directed by UT Dallas Theatre Program Director Thomas Riccio, a scientist, doing experiments to understand the seven-second phenomenon of déjà vu, makes a discovery. Déjà vu is not an event. It is not what it was thought to be, and eerie feeling of having experienced something before. It is a place where all that was and will ever be exists, a gelatinous parallel world encased in blue jelly. (Some aspects of the show may contain mature content.)

Time: 8 p.m.
Location: University Theatre, 800 W. Campbell Rd.
Admission: $15 per person

Join the Richardson Police Department for Coffee and Cops, hosted by McDonald’s. The public is encouraged to stop by and say hello, and also discuss any concerns.

Gymnastics Center Friday Night Fun!

Parents can register their child online, over the phone or in person. Kids ages 4-14 can enjoy an evening of fun at the Richardson Gymnastics Center!

Admission: Registration required. $10 per person, resident. $15 per person, nonresident

Enchanted Afternoon with Barbra Eisemann Center

An enchanted Afternoon with Barbra is an intimate tribute to Barbra Streisand. The iconic voice, the songs, the personality, all recreated by renowned tribute artist Sharon Owens.

Music of the Wandering Peoples

Follow the journey of the nomadic spirit, inspired by the historical travels and trials of the Romani people, the borders they crossed, the music of the people they encountered, they beauty of the lands they crossed, and the yearning for love, safety, and belonging shared by us all.

Introduction to Audacity Audacity

Discover how you can record and edit digital audio. Students will learn how to navigate Audacity and access its core resources, improve audio quality and remove unnecessary sounds, edit sounds and voices and how to start generating their own original audio.

Come dressed in your finery to learn a bit of etiquette, and feel indulged as we serve up tea, tea-time treats, and the loveliest of books. Keep an eye out for something prehistoric.

Hooray for Birds! Darbey's StoryWalk 

Darbey's StoryWalk®

This is the last weekend to enjoy the February edition of Darbey's StoryWalk®.  It is all about movement and reading, as it enables visitors to walk along a designated path behind the Library while reading pages of a children’s book posted at 16 different stations. By the time you complete the path, you’ve read an entire book. The walk begins at the Friends Garden just north of the Library’s main entrance and continues along one side of the fountain plaza and back to the front of the Library. It is free and open to the public around the clock, seven days a week.

RCAS Exhibit at Richardson City Hall/Civic Center  

The Richardson Civic Art Society has installed a new exhibit on the north wall of the City Hall/Civic Center’s main hallway, featuring 19 paintings created by RCAS members. The colorful display includes framed creations of varying sizes, with subjects including still life, crashing waves, a pensive gorilla, rodeo life, a Paris streetscape and more. Most are available for purchase; contact information is posted within the exhibit.

American Sign Language Classes Begin – Sign up Now!

The Richardson Senior Center invites you to learn about the basics of communication with American Sign Language. This class is for those who need a refresher as well as those who want to learn for the first time.

Parks and Recreation Department and Active Transportation Plan Public Open House Meeting

What can improve to make Richardson a great place to walk, bike, roll, and play? The City of Richardson is preparing an update to its Active Transportation Plan and Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan. The City is hosting two public open houses to hear your input.
