“The Drowsy Chaperone”
“The Drowsy Chaperone” pays tribute to the Jazz Age shows of the 1920s and the power to transport the audience into a dazzling fantasy and to lift their spirits.

RSO Photo Competition
The Richardson Symphony Orchestra is seeking photographs of Richardson to feature in its November 2023 “American Landscapes” concert. Images selected from the submissions will be projected onto a 440-square-foot screen above the orchestra, part of a choreographed visual and sound experience.
Submitted photos should represent what makes Richardson a special place to live and visit.

Strategies for Surviving an Active Shooter Event
The Richardson Police Department is hosting a community event to discuss points from a course called “Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events.” The discussion will be led by Sgt. Claude Locke.

Adults can take part in this introduction to 2016 Microsoft Excel. The topics include how an Excel spreadsheet is set up, what symbols are associated with a cell, the types of data that can go in a cell, how to write an equation and then solve sample equations, and how to create functions.

Dog Splash Day
Bring your pups and join Furry Friends of Richardson for a fun afternoon at the pool. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Richardson Animal Shelter.

Sixtiesmania performs “A Journey Through the Sixties,” an all-encompassing celebration of the iconic musical sixties. Sixtiesmania takes the audience on a musical roller coaster from the Beach Boys to the British invasion and everything in between.

Guided Boardwalk Tour
Learn about the wetland’s plants, animals, and history. You can also learn about the innovative design of the wetland, the relationship the wetland has with water supply, and the interaction between human engineering and nature.

Darbey’s StoryWalk®
Enjoy the August edition of Darbey’s StoryWalk®. This month’s book is titled “What the Dinosaurs Did at School” written by Refe and Susan Tuma. This book is a goofy celebration of starting a new school year. Learn lots, have fun and try not to get into too much trouble like these dinos.
Darbey’s StoryWalk® is all about movement and reading, as it enables visitors to walk along a designated path behind the Library while reading pages of a children’s book posted at 16 different stations.

UNIDOS Community Meeting
All are welcome as the Richardson Police Department hosts a UNIDOS Community meeting. Learn about Parkland Health’s free and low-cost health services, Parkland’s medical financial assistance programs, Catholic Charities’ free literacy program and other resources, and Richardson Police Department safety tips. Presentations will be in Spanish.
