DART to the State Fair
DART is adding scheduled stops to its light-rail service to better accommodate visitors to the State Fair of Texas which runs through Sunday, Oct. 22.
Extra Green Line trains will run between Victory Station and Lawnview Station from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 9 a.m.-to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. During those hours, trains on that portion of the Green Line will run approximately every 10 minutes.
Orange Line service will be extended to Plano’s Parker Road Station on all trips, weekdays and weekends.

Cottonwood Art Festival
The Cottonwood Art Festival returns with unique art from hundreds of artists, live music, food and fun activities for children.
A free shuttle bus will be available for attendees. Shuttles will leave from the Richardson High School Football Stadium, 1250 W. Belt Line Rd. Shuttles will be available throughout the event and will continue to run one hour after the festival closes.

RSO – Opening Night Concert
The Richardson Symphony Orchestra opens the season with Lili Boulanger’s vibrant “D’un matin de printemps” (On a Spring Morning), depicting the start of a new day. Lara St. John performs Chausson’s darkly mournful “Poéme” and Ravel’s rhapsodic “Tzigane.”

Chunky Knit Pumpkins Workshop

1st Saturday Walk and Talk Bird Tour

Community Input Open Houses
The second round of open houses for the Envision Richardson Comprehensive Plan Update and Design for City Hall are scheduled for Oct. 10 and Oct. 28. During the open houses, participants will be able to provide input for both projects. Each will be formatted as a come-and-go event, with no formal presentation or start time. Individual stations will be placed throughout the event to gather input.

“Spinning Stories to Gold”
Take a look at this photography exhibition that features the work of PhD candidate Anna Jaehnert. It is called “Spinning Stories to Gold,” and it introduces viewers to her visual interpretation of the Grimm Brother’s iconic fairy tales such as “Rumpelstiltskin,” “Snow White, “Little Red Cap” and “The Frog King.”

Join the Heights Recreation Center for a brand-new class. This is a 60-minute workout that combines cardio, strength and core training.
