2023 Dart to State Fair

DART to the State Fair 

DART is adding scheduled stops to its light-rail service to better accommodate visitors to the State Fair of Texas which runs through Sunday, Oct. 22.  

Extra Green Line trains will run between Victory Station and Lawnview Station from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 9 a.m.-to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. During those hours, trains on that portion of the Green Line will run approximately every 10 minutes.  

Orange Line service will be extended to Plano’s Parker Road Station on all trips, weekdays and weekends.

Cottonwood Fall 2023

Cottonwood Art Festival 

The Cottonwood Art Festival returns with unique art from hundreds of artists, live music, food and fun activities for children.  

A free shuttle bus will be available for attendees. Shuttles will leave from the Richardson High School Football Stadium, 1250 W. Belt Line Rd. Shuttles will be available throughout the event and will continue to run one hour after the festival closes.

RSO Opening Night 2023

RSO – Opening Night Concert 

The Richardson Symphony Orchestra opens the season with Lili Boulanger’s vibrant “D’un matin de printemps” (On a Spring Morning), depicting the start of a new day. Lara St. John performs Chausson’s darkly mournful “Poéme” and Ravel’s rhapsodic “Tzigane.”

Car Show at the Brewery

Car Show at the Brewery - in the CORE District 

Four Bullets Brewery is hosting its eighth annual car and truck show. The event will also feature food, live music, prizes and more.

Chunky Knit Pumpkins

Chunky Knit Pumpkins Workshop 

In this workshop, you will be guided step-by-step to make chunky knit pumpkins. This workshop requires no needles or knitting experience. There will be a variety of yarn colors to choose from. Membership to the Richardson Senior Center is not required.

1st Saturday Walk and Talk Bird Tour 

Learn about the birds that live at the wetland. The tour is geared toward beginner and intermediate birders. Learn how to use binoculars and field guides, keep a list and identify birds.

Open Houses October 2023 

Community Input Open Houses

The second round of open houses for the Envision Richardson Comprehensive Plan Update and Design for City Hall are scheduled for Oct. 10 and Oct. 28. During the open houses, participants will be able to provide input for both projects. Each will be formatted as a come-and-go event, with no formal presentation or start time. Individual stations will be placed throughout the event to gather input.

Take a look at this photography exhibition that features the work of PhD candidate Anna Jaehnert. It is called “Spinning Stories to Gold,” and it introduces viewers to her visual interpretation of the Grimm Brother’s iconic fairy tales such as “Rumpelstiltskin,” “Snow White, “Little Red Cap” and “The Frog King.”

Join the Heights Recreation Center for a brand-new class. This is a 60-minute workout that combines cardio, strength and core training. It is a challenging, empowering and energizing class that will leave you refreshed and recharged. Body Boost is designed for moms in all stages of motherhood. Kids are welcome in strollers.

The City of Richardson will celebrate the second annual Culture in the CORE event in Downtown Richardson at the Main Street Plaza. There will be a variety of international cuisines and vendors, as well as multicultural dance and music performances.
