Richardson Counselor in Training Program
The Richardson Parks and Recreation Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is designed to offer kids ages 13-17 an opportunity to prepare for positions as camp counselors or recreation leaders. Those interested in the CIT program must complete an application process, which includes an application, references and an interview. Applications are now being accepted.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
Eisemann Center Presents The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. The Orchestra’s 37-year-long career has taken them to Carnegie Hall, Glastonbury festival, the North Pole, and China to Estonia via Japan, Australia and the Isle of Man, garnering hordes of fans and imitators along the way.

Viniyoga Class
Join the Richardson Senior Center for a yoga approach that adapts each yoga practice to your unique condition, needs and interests by giving you tools to individualize and actualize the process of a self-discovery and personal transformation. There is also specialized emphasis on function rather than mastery of form in different postures in order to achieve specific effects. All levels welcome.

Student Art Contest
Calling all elementary artists! Kids in grades K-6 can enter the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival’s Student Art Contest. Participants could win prizes and tickets to Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival. The theme of this year’s contest is “Take a Walk in the Park.”

CityLine Live – Blake Cheek
Live music returns to the outdoor plaza each Friday and Saturday in April and May. Hear music from classic rock artist Blake Cheek. Lawn chairs, picnic blankets and pups are welcome and encouraged.

A Forest in the City from Eisemann Center Presents
Eisemann Center Presents +Erba, an interactive show with two dancers who create together, with children, an imaginary city. The architect dancer observes the landscape and draws the city with houses and streets. The other dancer loves the earth, the insects and draws grass and trees. This a family-friendly event for families with kids of all ages, including toddlers.

“Nouveau Nostalgia Radio Show Company”- Episode 2
A group of actors try to re-create the old-time radio shows of the 30s and 40s. The play is going out live over the air as another story is being told in the studio.

Computing 101 with Windows 10
This is a class for absolute beginners to gain fundamental computing skills. Participants will learn how to navigate a Windows 10 laptop or desktop personal computer, how to operate the basic hardware and peripherals used by computers, how to locate all the tools you need to adjust to a computer’s setting, what to consider when managing your privacy in Windows 10 and a few tips on how to do your own future troubleshooting.

Richardson Engineering and Capital Projects Department Open House
The City of Richardson’s Capital Projects and Engineering Department is hosting an open house where the community can attend and learn more about the status of projects from the 2015, 2021 and City Hall Bond Programs and other important infrastructure projects from Engineering staff at this come-and-go event. Some of the projects to be featured at the open house include the new City Hall, Richardson Public Library, Custer Road Phases 1 and 2, West Prairie Creek Drive and West Shore Drive.

Drug Take Back Event
Dispose of any unused or expired pharmaceuticals. All solid dosage pharmaceutical product and liquids in consumer containers may be accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container with the cap tightly sealed. Intra-venous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted due to the potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.

Disc Golf Tournament
Registration is underway for the third annual Richardson Disc Golf Tournament. The tournament will feature one round (18 holes) of singles play. Registration ends April 24.

Adaptive Disc Golf Social
Join the Parks and Recreation Department for an adaptive disc golf social event. There will be hotdogs, chips, and drinks for all participants and caddies. Please bring your own disc if possible. Loner discs can also be borrowed or purchased. Specialized instruction will be available to help you best adapt your throwing style.

HanOpera, founded by soprano Dr. Yixuan Han in the DFW area, is a vocal arts center dedicated to singing based on science and professional training. “HanOpera Musical Theatre Review Concert” features the well-trained singers of all ages performing renowned musical selections from “Mary Poppins” and other musicals.

Residential Cook Oil/Grease Collection Event
The Residential Cooking Oil/Grease Collection event that was scheduled as part of Trash Bash has been rescheduled. People can drop off used cooking oil and grease at the Service Center through May 10. The collection location will be in the parking lot adjacent to the southernmost entrance to the Municipal Service Center off Glenville Drive. Use a sealable container and place in the plastic bin located in the parking lot. Please note that motor oil and other automotive fluid is not accepted. Grease dropped off will either be used to create biodiesel or turned into biogas for energy production.

Fashion Show with Jayne (The Bag Lady)

Registration is now open for the Wildflower! Cornhole Tournament, which will take place at the festival. The grand prize is a $125 gift card to Scheels, with second place bringing home a $50 Scheels gift card. Registration deadline is May 12.
