Children’s Entrepreneur Market – Registration Now Open
The Children’s Entrepreneur Marking is coming to the second day of Huffhines Harvest Fest this fall, featuring all-youth vendors (ages 5-17) selling artistic creations, food items and more as they learn about entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership. These markets are now in 24 states and spots usually go fast.

“Poodles Postmen and Pastrami”
Annie Lipski, a dog groomer to the “Hollywood Stars,” returns to her hometown where she finds her parents’ business, a combination sushi bar, feed store and kosher deli, totally trashed. Behind the deed is “Slick” Wallace as part of a ruthless plot to take over the store for his employer, Scarbucks. To make matters worse, Annie’s parents were killed in an accidental - or was it? - collapse of a fertilizer bin.

Hear from Indian score composer duo Salim Sulaiman. The duo is known for composing music predominantly for Hindi films.

Family 4th Celebration
Sparks will fly at the City of Richardson’s annual Family 4th Celebration. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and/or lawn chairs to enjoy the evening under the stars.

Associate Conductor Jane Chambers will lead the Richardson Community Band in the traditional pre-fireworks concert with patriotic favorites, a featured singer and tap-your-toe marches.

“Patriotic Pops”
Join the Plano Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the nation’s independence. The concert includes a tribute to all the branches of the armed forces and will feature guest vocalist Steve Amerson and the Patriotic Pops chorus.

Aquatics Master Plan
The City of Richardson is undertaking an Aquatics Master Plan that will develop a long-term plan for the appropriate level of aquatic services for the community. Your feedback, suggestions and input are needed to ensure the City is meeting the current and future needs of the community. You can participate in the community survey to share your thoughts the on future of aquatics facilities in Richardson.

First Fridays
Eisemann Center Presents a small reception on the first Friday night of each month completely free and open to the public to celebrate the new exhibit in the Forrest and Virginia Green Mezzanine Gallery. The exhibiting artist will often be available to chat with visitors about their work. This month, meet artist Sarah Gomez and celebrate the extension of her exhibit “Pink Blanket.” It explores the profound grief experienced when one leaves the comfort of a place once called home, now having to build a new life surrounded by objects carrying the memory of all that was left behind. The exhibit continues through July 28.

“Late Nite Catechism”
“Late Nite Catechism” is an uproarious piece of theater that takes audience members back – sometimes nostalgically, sometimes fearfully – to the children they once were. The irrepressible Sister teaches an adult catechism class to a roomful of “students” (the audience). Over the course of the play, Sister goes from benevolent instructor, rewarding the “students” for correct answers with glow-in-the dark rosaries and other nifty prizes, to authoritative drill sergeant.

The third Community Summit for the Envision Richardson Comprehensive Plan Update ends this Sunday, July 7th. Don’t miss the opportunity to contribute your perspective on the future of Richardson using this online survey. The Comprehensive Plan serves as the City’s outline for future land use and zoning decisions and guides choices regarding public investments in transportation and other infrastructure required to support future development.

Dive-In Movie: “Finding Dory”
Would you like to splash in the pool while enjoying a movie? Join the Parks and Recreation Department for a dive-in movie night. The movie shown will be “Finding Dory.” Lifeguards will be on duty. Single-person floatation devices are allowed at pool with lifeguard discretion. Slides and special water features will be turned off during the movie (lap pool and lazy river will be open). No outside food, drinks or alcohol is allowed.
Time: Movie begins at sunset (around 8:30 p.m.)

Inclusive Swim & Play Days
Richardson’s Inclusive Swin & Play Days are specific days that you can bring your family members with a disability or special needs to swim and play free of charge for almost two hours before the general public is allowed into the pool.
