2024 - Cultural Arts Survey - 1080x1080-01The City of Richardson is seeking feedback on cultural art experiences as part of work underway to update the City’s Cultural Arts Master Plan. Among input being asked are questions about public art, the need for performance spaces, and other events and services.

About the Cultural Arts Master Plan Update

Richardson is working on an update to its Cultural Arts Master Plan, which provides a comprehensive strategy for the City’s support for programs, projects, and services related to the arts in Richardson.

Key components of study work underway include:

  1. Assessment of Current Conditions to identify existing cultural resources, such as theaters, galleries, public art, and cultural spaces and facilities.
  2. Funding and Resource Allocation to recommend strategies for funding arts and cultural initiatives, and to suggest ways to allocate resources effectively.
  3. Policy Recommendations to provide guidance on policies that support the arts, such as zoning, public art ordinances, and arts education.

Overall, the Cultural Arts Master Plan update will serve as a roadmap as the City continues to refine support for arts and culture into the fabric of the community, fostering growth, sustainability, and a richer cultural life.

About the Cultural Arts Master Plan Survey

The Cultural Arts Master Plan survey opened Aug. 5 and runs through Oct. 6, with respondents able to complete the survey online. Responses will help guide the future of the City’s cultural arts offerings through grants, community events, programming, and other forms of cultural arts support.

The survey should take less than five minutes to complete and determines local needs through an exercise that asks respondents to gauge support through a budgeting process. The survey is open to anyone with an interest in providing their response.

A link to the survey is available at www.cor.net/CommunityEngagement, with links also shared on the City of Richardson’s Richardson Today social media channels.
