Photo Contest Generic

2024 City Photo Contest Winners and Judge’s Exhibition 

The Best of Show and Best of Division Winner’s Exhibit from the City’s 2024 Photo Contest, as well as the 2024 Photo Contest Judge’s Exhibit, are on display. The Best of Show and Best of Division Exhibit features the work of Kaye Hargis, David Steger and Ava Dunn, while the Judge’s Exhibit features the photographs of Rebecca Deragon, Hector Reyes and Robin Thompson.

2025 MLK BHM Art and Essay Contest

Annual Richardson Art and Essay Contest 

Writers and artists are invited to participate in Richardson’s Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black History Month Art and Essay contests. Winning works will be published by the City with authors/artists receiving $200 and certificates of achievement from the Mayor and City Council. Students must live in Richardson, or attend school with the city, to be eligible to enter. 

Time: Now through Jan. 31 (Essay submissions accepted)

This show portrays the changing relationship between John and Robert, two actors – one older and experienced, the other a young up-and-comer – working together in a repertory company.

Steam Starters

STEAM Starters – Zip Lines 

Kids ages 6-8 can join the Richardson Public Library to discover and explore science, technology, engineering, art and math by learning a lot of cool stuff with hands-on activities individually or as part of a small team. Kids can take the zip line challenge. They will build a zip line, then test its strength and speed.

Stuffies

Stuffies Storytime & Sleepover 

Kids ages 3-7 and their favorite stuffed animal or toy are invited to storytime at the Richardson Public Library. When storytime ends, they will hug their buddy goodbye and check the Library’s Facebook and Instagram pages to see all the fun they’re having at the super special stuffie sleepover. Stuffie or toys must be picked up the following morning at the Library’s Teen Service Desk from 10-10:30 a.m.

Walk and Yoga Event

Healthier Texas Community Challenge – WALK & YOGA 

Join the Healthier Texas Community Challenge and kick off the challenge with the City of Richardson with a walk and yoga event. The first 100 people to attend will receive a free T-shirt. There will also be a raffle drawing.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat. Limited Yoga mats will be available for first come, first serve!

Formerly known as It’s Time Texas Community Challenge, Healthier Texas Community Challenge is an eight-week health competition between communities across the state of Texas. Texans across the state compete and earn points by eating healthy, being active and staying hydrated.
