Wildflower 2025

Budding Talent Vocal Competition 

Students in kindergarten through 12th grades are invited to compete for a chance to perform at Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival on Sunday, May 18. Live auditions will be held on Sunday, April 6 at the Richardson Senior Center.

Wildflower 2025

Student Art Contest 

Music is everywhere! Create your own art masterpiece to show what that phrase means to you. Richardson students in kindergarten through 6th grades are invited to participate. Winners will receive a ribbon and two tickets to the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival. Complete rules and official entry form are found on the Wildflower! website.

Tax Return

2024 – AARP Free Tax Preparation Help 

Tax preparation appointments are available and will be held at both the Heights and Huffhines Recreation Centers. You must complete an AARP tax packet, available at the Library and Recreation Centers. You must also bring important documents such as a government-issued ID, the prior year’s tax returns and Social Security cards.  

Time: 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. (last appointment at 2 p.m.) Available through April 14

The Price is Right Live

The Price is Right Live is the hit interactive stage show that gives eligible individuals the chance to hear their names called and “Come on Down” to win. Prizes may include appliances, vacations and possibly a new car. Play classic games just like on television’s longest running and most popular game show from Plinko to Cliffhangers to The Big Wheel and even the fabulous Showcase.

Endless Summer – America's Beach Boys Experience

Birding for Beginners (Bilingual) 

Join the Richardson Urban Naturalist program on this exciting birding walk through Breckinridge Park, led by a bilingual Texas Master Naturalist who is an experienced bird watcher. This walk is a great opportunity to learn about the natural environment and beautiful birds that are in Richardson. The class will be held in English and Spanish.

Make a Butterfly Garden 

During this Richardson Public Library-sponsored program, Dallas Master Gardener Janet Smith will show adults and teens how to create a butterfly garden in their gardens or outdoor spaces. She specializes in creating attractive landscapes that conserve natural resources and money, are good for the local ecology and attract bees, butterflies and birds. Free seeds will be available while supplies last.

Learn about the wetland’s plants, animals and the fascinating history of the property. You can also learn about the innovative design of the wetland, the relationship the wetland has with water supply and the interaction between human engineering and nature.

RCAS Solo Art Exhibit at Heights Recreation Center 

The artwork of Richardson Civic Art Society member Kay Hoag is currently on display at Heights Recreation Center and will remain up through April 8. The exhibit features 15 works created in mediums including watercolor, mixed media, pen & ink, and colored pencil.

Join Alamo Drafthouse for a movie party and watch the 1995 classic “Jumanji.” In this movie, two kids get way more than they bargained for when they sit down to play what they believe is an innocent jungle-themed board game. Attendees will receive props including animal dice, a custom wooden player token, a monkey tail, a branded hand drum and an acrylic keychain designed like the crystal ball in the center of the board game.

Easter Eggstravaganza 2025 – Registration is Now Open 

Bring a basket and have fun at the City of Richardson Eggstravaganza. This is not your typical egg hunt. Hop down the egg hunt trail and collect eggs from various booths hosted by local community organizations. Other activities include story time with the Richardson Public Library, bounce houses, arts and crafts, and photos with the Easter Bunny. This event is for kids ages 3-12.

The Great Richardson Baking Bonanza

The Great Richardson Baking Bonanza – RALC Murder Mystery Event (Tickets Available Now) 

Join the Richardson Adult Literacy Center (RALC) for the annual Murder Mystery Event. The first act of the performance will end with tragedy. Then, audience members will work together to figure out who is the culprit. Special guest performers include Richardson City Council member Dan Barrios, Amanda Pritchard with UT Dallas, Gavin Nichols with Farmer’s Insurance, Dave Swiney with Shady’s Burgers & Brewhaha, and Sally Grinsfelder, RALC supporter and winner of the 2024 guest actor auction.
