The American Civil War Part 2
This lecture will cover little-known facts about the war, some points of interest about the Reconstruction period immediately after the war and other thoughts about the period beyond the Reconstruction. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch during this Richardson Public Library-sponsored program. This event is for seniors 50 and older.

Richardson Replants Tree Giveaway
As part of the Richardson Replants program, the City is giving away free trees to residents. The types of trees available includes Chinkapin Oak, Desert Willow, and Peach. Trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis to residents with a valid identification card or recent water utility bill to prove Richardson residency.

Carnival

Bring your unused or expired pharmaceuticals for disposal. All solid dosage pharmaceutical product and liquids in consumer containers may be accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The depositor should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting a workshop that introduces participants to the experience and practice of mindfulness to reduce stress. Successful stress management has been found to be effective in reducing related symptoms such as worry, depression and physical tension. Learn about the benefits of mindfulness-based approaches to stress reduction. Understand how to recognize your personal stressors. Experience mindful movement, mindful breathing and other mindfulness skills as ways to relax and manage stress. Membership to the Richardson Senior Center is not required.

The Center for Asian Studies, Crow Museum of Asian Art at UTD and the DFW World Affairs Council are hosting a cultural day the Crow Museum on the UTD Campus. There will be a Chinese Tea & Calligraphy Workshop where you can learn about Chinese tea ceremonies and brush work calligraphy. There will also be an event called Playful Asia where you can learn about and have fun with Asian board games like Go, Mahjohg, Chinese Checkers, Chinese Chess and Tambola.
