Panel Discussion: “Through the Lens of Photo 1c: 80 Years After Liberation” 

Commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation and end of World War II in the European Theater. Special panel guests will include: 

  • Dr. Michael Bell (Col. US Army, Ret.), Executive Director of the Jenny Craig Institute for the Study of War and Democracy, World War II Museum 

  • Jessica Schneider Adams, MA, Archivist & Volunteer Coordinator, the Dallas Jewish Historical Society 

  • Marshall Coleman (USMC, Veteran), Researcher, The Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies at UT Dallas

The event will also celebrate the wartime photobook of Capt. Duaine Eldred, a recent gift to The Ackerman Center.

“Caucasian Chalk Circle” 

Set in the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia, “Caucasian Chalk Circle” retells the tale of King Solomon and a child claimed by two mothers—one reeking of power and privilege, the other just a poor girl with nothing to give the child but her love and determination.

Moves Into Pilates 

This class is a great combination of cardio and core, fusing aerobics and traditional Pilates methods. You will increase your heart health, core strength, posture and balance. Bring your own mat. Membership to the Richardson Senior Center is required.

African Vibration Music Festival 2025 

Celebrate the vibrant sounds, stories and spirit of Africa at the African Vibration Music Festival. This two-day celebration brings together more than 22 artists, bands and thought leaders from across the African continent, the U.S. and the Caribbean for a dynamic mix of live music, panel discussions, cuisines and cultural experiences.

Stress Less with Mindfulness Workshop 

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting a workshop that introduces participants to the experience and practice of mindfulness to reduce stress. Successful stress management has been found to be effective in reducing related symptoms such as worry, depression and physical tension. Learn about the benefits of mindfulness-based approaches to stress reduction. Understand how to recognize your personal stressors. Experience mindful movement, mindful breathing and other mindfulness skills as ways to relax and manage stress. Membership to the Richardson Senior Center is not required.

This class is perfect for anybody and everybody. It is a total workout combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility.

Youth Citizen Police Academy – Applications Open 

The Richardson Police Department is holding a one-week program designed to provide teenagers (ages 13-17) with firsthand information about law enforcement. Topics will include hands-on instruction in the following areas:

  • Drone (UAS) Program  

  • Patrol Tactics 

  • Communications 

  • Crime Scene Investigations (CSI)
