Mysterious things have been happening in the Manningham household: items go missing, their dog is injured and Mrs. Manningham hears footsteps coming from the locked, uninhabited top floor. She fears that she is going mad—that is certainly what Mr. Manningham believes. But when Detective Rough arrives to visit Mrs. Manningham while she is alone, questions arise and secrets are revealed about her husband. Suddenly, insanity is no longer the biggest threat she faces as she discovers she has married a dangerous man.

T(h)inker Thursdays—Potato Car Derby 

Kids ages 9-12 can get a lesson in physics by making a derby car out of a potato. That’s right, a potato. During this Richardson Public Library-sponsored program kids will build a speedy spud and then race their classmates.

The Oregon Trail Survival Challenge

Teen Program—Oregon Trail Survival Challenge 

Can you survive the Oregon Trail? Inspired by the famous video game, teens ages 13-18 can take the legendary journey across the country by completing the Richardson Public Library’s challenge. Hunt for food and visit settlements. There is a chance you might even die of dysentery. Teens can play solo or as a team.

It’s time to cool off and keep those fine motor skills fine-tuned this summer with fun fine motor activities in the water. Kids ages 3-6 can join the Richardson Public Library at the Huffhines Park Pavilion. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Some activities include small parts and may present choking hazards for younger children.

Adaptive Summer Adult Venture Days 

This is the perfect opportunity for adults with special needs to venture out from home during the summer to explore new activities outdoors and indoors to help increase their cognitive, physical and social skills all while having fun in a group setting. The group will go the Frontier of Flight Museum and Love Field Airport for a morning of amazement before heading to Alamo Drafthouse to eat lunch and watch a movie on the big screen.

Movies in the Park and Dive-In Movies

Dive-In Movies – Tickets on Sale 

Splash into the lap pool or float through the lazy river during these Dive-In Movie events at Heights Family Aquatics Center. On Friday, July 18 bring the family out to watch “Moana 2.” Then, on Friday, Aug. 15, those 18 years and older can watch “Mean Girls.” Lifeguards will be on duty. All rules of the pool must be followed.
