The Traveling Professor: Peru
Seniors 50 and older can join the Richardson Public Library and visit Lima, Cusco and travel through mountains and valleys to mystic and stunningly beautiful Machu Picchu. Finally, join The Traveling Professor to study the fascinating, isolated ecosystem of the Amazon jungle. Miss Texas/Miss Texas’ Teen Finals
The Richardson Eisemann Center will host the finals for the Miss Texas/Miss Texas’ Teen scholarship competitions.
The finals will be broadcast live on the Miss Texas Network of televisions stations including on Rewind-TV 33.5. The competition will be rebroadcast at 10 p.m. on CW 33-Dallas-Ft. Worth. Check your local listings for the most up to date information.

CRASE: Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event – Registration Open
The Richardson Police Department is offering CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training to the community. This important, evidence-based program was developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University. CRASE is designed to empower civilians with proactive strategies to help survive an active shooter or other violent critical incident.

Disc Golf at Breckinridge Park
Play a round (or two) of disc golf at Breckinridge Park. The disc golf course at Breckinridge Park was designed by Eric McCabe, one of the most-renowned disc golf course designers, and the winner of the 2010 Professional Disc Golf Association World Championship.

Family 4th Celebration
Sparks will fly at the City of Richardson’s annual Family 4th Celebration. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, and/or lawn chairs and enjoy the evening under the stars.Parking is limited at Breckinridge Park. A free round-trip shuttle service will be offered from designated off-site parking locations at 3001 & 3101 President George Bush Turnpike. Shuttle buses will start at 6 p.m. and the last bus will depart from off-site parking to the park at 9 p.m.

Richardson Disc Golf Tournament – Registration Now Open
Registration is now open for Richardson Disc Golf Tournament. The tournament will consist of one round with 18 holes.

Dive-In Movies – Tickets on Sale
Splash into the lap pool or float through the lazy river during these Dive-In Movie events at Heights Family Aquatics Center. On Friday, July 18 bring the family out to watch “Moana 2.” Then, on Friday, Aug. 15, those 18 years and older can watch “Mean Girls.” Lifeguards will be on duty. All rules of the pool must be followed.

Movies will start at sunset shortly after 8:30 p.m.
