Breckinridge Park Disc Golf

Disc Golf at Breckinridge Park 

Play a round (or two) of disc golf at Breckinridge Park. The disc golf course at Breckinridge Park was designed by Eric McCabe, one of the most-renowned disc golf course designers, and the winner of the 2010 Professional Disc Golf Association World Championship.

Moana 2 

Dive-In Movies – "Moana 2”

Splash into the lap pool or float through the lazy river during these Dive-In Movies events at Heights Family Aquatics Center. Bring the family out to watch “Moana 2.” Then, on Friday, Aug. 15, those 18 years and older can watch “Mean Girls.” Lifeguards will be on duty. All rules of the pool must be followed. Concessions will be for sale. 

Time: Movie will start at sunset shortly after 8:30 p.m.

“Something Rotten”

Two brothers set out to write the world’s first musical in this hilarious mash-up of 16th century Shakespeare and 21st century Broadway.

Summer Adult Venture Days

Adaptive Summer Adult Venture Days - Registration Open

This is the perfect opportunity for adults with special needs to venture out from home during the summer to explore new activities outdoors and indoors to help increase their cognitive, physical and social skills all while having fun in a group setting. Visit the Heritage Farmstead Museum to see how things were done when the west was young. Please bring a sack lunch for a picnic at the park.

Learn about the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center’s special ecosystem’s flora, fauna and the fascinating history of the property. Attendees will also learn about the design of the wetland, the relationship the wetland has with water supply and the interaction between human engineering and nature.

“Southlake” 

Peek in on the life-defining moments of Randall Scott. He is a Vietnam veteran who with his young, pregnant wife Rose settled into the quiet farming suburb of Southlake, Texas in the early 1970s. This is a story of love, regret, change and redemption.

Fine Motor Fun at Huffhines Park 

It’s time to cool off and keep those fine motor skills fine-tuned this summer with fun fine motor activities in the water. Kids ages 2-6 can join the Richardson Public Library at the Huffhines Park Pavilion. Also, visit the Library’s outreach van, R.O.V.E.R., at the park. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Some activities may contain small parts that can be a choking hazard.
