“Floating World of the Cloud Quilt” at Crow Museum of Asian Art 

In this multimedia, immersive installation, Saya Woolfalk created a dynamic interplay of symbols and imagery by drawing on her vast analog and digital archives of past projects, “quilting” together historical elements from the fictional world she created known as the Empathic Universe. The installation is set up as an infinity loop, allowing the audience to experience what being immersed in that universe feels like, engaging in continuous and complex interactions and responses with its residents.

“Be My Baby” 

John, an irascible Scotsman and an uptight English woman, Maude, both in their late 50s, take on the journey of a lifetime. They are brought together when his ward marries her niece. Then, when the young couple decides to adopt a newborn baby, the older couple has to travel 6,000 miles to California to pick up the child and bring her safely home to Scotland. The problem is, John and Maude despise each other. To make matters worse, they get stranded in San Francisco for several weeks and are expected to jointly care for the helpless newborn. There they form a new partnership and learn some startling lessons about life and love.

Food Preservation Workshop 

Home canning, freezing and drying continues to be popular methods of preserving foods at home. It is important that safe preservation methods and tested recipes be followed for the prevention of food-borne illness and spoilage. Join the Richardson Senior Center to focus on food safety, freezing, dehydrating and water bath canning through hands on education. Membership to the Senior Center is not required.

Yellowstone in Winter

Around the World Presentation – Yellowstone in Winter 

Join the Richardson Senior Center for a talk that will start in Boseman where you will stay at the Chico Hot Springs resort to warm up in the hot spring pool. You will enter Yellowstone and see bison, elk, wolves and moose along the way. You will also see geysers, fumaroles and paint pots erupting all around against snow covered cliffs and valleys. Then you will make your way by snow machines down through the Grand Tetons and sleigh in the National Elk Refuge. A tour of Jackson will complete this very special trip. Membership to the Senior Center is not required.
