“Be My Baby” 

John, an irascible Scotsman and an uptight English woman, Maude, both in their late 50s, take on the journey of a lifetime. They are brought together when his ward marries her niece. Then, when the young couple decides to adopt a newborn baby, the older couple has to travel 6,000 miles to California to pick up the child and bring her safely home to Scotland. The problem is, John and Maude despise each other. To make matters worse, they get stranded in San Francisco for several weeks and are expected to jointly care for the helpless newborn. There they form a new partnership and learn some startling lessons about life and love.

Dive-In Movies – “Mean Girls”

Splash into the lap pool or float through the lazy river during this Dive-In Movies event at Heights Family Aquatics Center. Those 18 and older can watch “Mean Girls.” Lifeguards will be on duty. All rules of the pool must be followed. Concessions will be for sale. 

Time: Movie will start at sunset shortly after 8:30 p.m. (Friday)

Adaptive Wild West Hoedown – Registration Open

Come dressed in your best western attire for a rip snortin' good time. Enjoy a spectacular Texas chuckwagon style dinner with music, dancing and prizes up for grabs.

Benise: 25 Years of Passion 

Benise, “The Prince of Spanish Guitar,” and his Emmy Award-winning production come to town as part of his global tour. Armed with his Spanish guitar, Benise will take the audience on an unprecedented and epic adventure through Spanish Flamenco, Cuban Salsa, Brazilian Samba, Parisian Waltz, exotic drumming and more.

Tinkercad 3D Printing Aug. 2025

3D Printing Beginner 

This is an introduction to Tinkercad. In the hands-on class, participants will navigate through Tinkercad’s main 3D design resources, manipulate Tinkercad’s basic geometric shapes, export a 3D model for printing and print on the Library’s 3D printer. This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for adults with a valid RPL card.

Disc Golf at Breckinridge Park 

Play a round (or two) of disc golf at Breckinridge Park. The disc golf course at Breckinridge Park was designed by Eric McCabe, one of the most-renowned disc golf course designers, and the winner of the 2010 Professional Disc Golf Association World Championship.

Yellowstone in Winter

Around the World Presentation – Yellowstone in Winter 

Join the Richardson Senior Center for a talk that will start in Bozeman where you will stay at the Chico Hot Springs resort to warm up in the hot spring pool. You will enter Yellowstone and see bison, elk, wolves and moose along the way. You will also see geysers, fumaroles and paint pots erupting all around against snow covered cliffs and valleys. Then, you will make your way, by snow machines, down through the Grand Tetons and sleigh in the National Elk Refuge. A tour of Jackson will complete this very special trip. Membership to the Senior Center is not required.

Join Richardson Reads One Book (RROB) for the annual Author Luncheon and Book Signing. This year features Rowan Jacobsen, author of the 2025 RROB selection, “Wild Chocolate.” Guests will enjoy an intimate interview with Jacobsen, who will take questions from attendees and be available afterward for book signings.
