A new traffic pattern is expected to take effect next week, weather permitting, along Custer Parkway between Pleasant Valley Lane and West Lookout Drive as part of the ongoing Custer Parkway Reconstruction Project.
Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 2, or as soon as weather and other conditions allow, traffic patterns are scheduled to shift to newly constructed northbound lanes on the east side of the road. One lane will remain open in each direction during this phase of construction. Bike lanes will remain closed, and on-street parking will continue to be prohibited within the active construction zone.
Since April, traffic has been traveling in the southbound lanes while crews worked to complete the opposite side of the roadway.
This traffic change will not affect areas north of Pleasant Valley Lane, meaning Aldridge Elementary School will see no additional impacts from the shift.
