Crews lifted westbound lane closures along Renner Road near Custer Parkway this morning, marking the start of the final phase of the 825 Pressure Zone Project.
The work is part of a joint effort between the City of Richardson and North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) to increase water system capacity in northwest Richardson. The project includes the installation of a 42-inch water transmission line designed to strengthen long-term water service reliability in the area.
Remaining work on Renner Road will include pavement restoration and landscaping. This phase may require temporary rolling lane closures during non-peak traffic hours to minimize impacts.
In addition to the waterline installation, the project included construction of a new ground storage tank and pump station near Point North Park, both of which are now in the final stages of construction and system testing.
As part of the City’s 2021 Bond Program, Point North Park also underwent a complete renovation, featuring new playground equipment, artificial turf, separate play areas for children ages 2–5 and 5–12, a large climbing wall, and the park’s first pavilion. The renovated park is located along the Spring Creek Trail System, a regional east-west hike-and-bike trail, further strengthening the City’s active transportation and trail network.
