Budding Talent Vocal Competition – Apply Today 

Young singers, this is your moment. Budding Talent is an annual vocal competition for students in kindergarten-12th grade, giving kids the chance to take center stage at the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival. Finalists will perform live on Sunday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m., in front of a festival crowd cheering them on. The journey begins with a live preliminary audition on Sunday, April 12 at the Richardson Senior Center.

2026 Wildflower! Student Art Contest – Apply Today 

Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival invites students to create bold, colorful flower artwork inspired by the Pop Art Movement. For students K-6th grades, pick up a poster board at one of the pick-up/drop-off locations and enter your masterpiece for a chance to win a ribbon and tickets to the festival.  

Time: Must apply by April 9

Say it with Flowers Nebula Exhibit

Step into the quiet world of botanical symbolism. Drawn from the Lousie B. Belsterling Botanical Collection, these illustrations reveal how flowers have carried meaning across cultures and time.

Drop-In Tech Help

Drop-in Tech Help is the Richardson Public Library’s quick tech help option. This program is available every Thursday. Walk in and spend 5-15 minutes with a librarian to ask your tech questions. This program covers ebooks/eReaders, basic computer navigation, basic app use, basic cellphone use, basic tablet use, general internet instruction, research beyond Google and using library electronic resources.

2026 Texas Guitar Competition and Festival 

This unique Texas competition is designed to showcase outstanding classical guitar students. During the three-day event, students can compete and attend master classes and concerts by internationally recognized guitarists.

Alamo Drafthouse Movie Party: “Jurassic Park” 

Join Alamo Drafthouse for an interactive movie party and watch “Jurassic Park.” There will be props including glow sticks, hand soap, a car magnet, a ladle, dino poop and everything else you need for a fun-filled time with some two-story-tall genetic monstrosities.

First Fridays 

Eisemann Center Presents a small reception on the first Friday night of each month completely free and open to the public to celebrate the new exhibit in the Forrest and Virginia Green Mezzanine Gallery. This month, Richardson ISD continues its annual Districtwide Art Showcase.

The Great Race: The Story of the Chinese Zodiac 

Join the characters Po Po and Kung Kung as they celebrate Chinese New Year by making dumplings and sharing the story of The Great Race with their grandkids, Freddie and Ivy. The show weaves a family celebration with a retelling of one of the most beloved tales in Chinese folklore – the origin story of the Chinese Zodiac.

Bird & Trout Lily Discovery Walk 

Join the Richardson Urban Naturalist program on this exciting nature walk through Breckinridge Park, searching for the beautiful Trout Lily. Led by a Texas Master Naturalist, this walk is a great opportunity to learn about the natural environment we have right here in Richardson. Also, join a fellow birder and Texas Master Naturalist to observe the remaining winter bird visitors and arriving spring migrants. There will be many species to observe and listen to, as nesting season is here. Binoculars are encouraged.

Chloé Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies Live 

Founded in 2003 by Chloé at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Syncopated Ladies were most recently featured in the hit Apple TV+ film “Spirited” and on hit television shows. Syncopated Ladies Live is the first tap dance show of its kind in a generation.

Story Stroll 

Grab your stroller and stretch your legs. Join the Richardson Public Library for a storytime at the park pavilion, then enjoy a walk through the park as you connect to nature with movement, rhymes and fun. 2nd Tuesday Tadpole Tales: Hidden in Plain Sight 

Bring your kids, ages 6 and younger, for a fun hour of storytime and crafts and activities at the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center. Learn about the amazing ways animals hide from predators and prey in this fun lesson about camouflage. You can also enjoy a stroll on the wetland boardwalk and bring picnic for lunch on the grounds.
