On 05/06/26 at 10:00 p.m., the Richardson Police Department responded to the 2100 block of East Buckingham Road following reports of a man with a knife threatening to harm several people.

Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspect standing outside the entrance of a restaurant while armed with a knife. Officers were informed that victims were inside the restaurant and issued multiple verbal commands for the suspect to drop the knife. The suspect refused to comply. During the encounter, two officers discharged their firearms, striking the suspect.

Additional responding officers immediately began providing medical aid to the injured victims inside the restaurant until paramedics arrived on scene. Four victims injured in the attack by the suspect were taken to the hospital for their injuries. The suspect was also transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

This investigation remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available and details are confirmed. There is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
