“Kong’s Night Out” 

This is the story of what happened in the hotel room next to the hotel room where Ann was whisked out of bed and into the Manhattan night by King Kong. There’s always a backstory. Myron Siegel is a low-end Broadway producer who desperately wants to be high end. Trouble is, he has, for his entire career, been sabotaged by his archrival, who is ultra-famous for making movies about scary jungle creatures.

World Cup Watch Party in the Plaza 

CityLine will transform into the ultimate neighborhood watch party for Mexico vs. South Korea. There will be a giant LED screen, patio vibes, match-night energy and a summer evening built for gathering food.

Alamo Drafthouse Kids Camp - “K-Pop Demon Hunters”  

Join Alamo Drafthouse for its Kids Camp series. This summer program is dedicated to providing affordable family movies for maximum family fun. Discounted tickets are available for everyone making it easy to bring your budding cinephile to the movies.

PM Pints 

June’s edition of PM Pints is entitled, “State Legislation: Its Impact on Education, Tech, and Growth” and features Amanda Rockow, VP of Government & Community Relations at UT Dallas, and Andrea Coker, Chief Advocacy Officer, North Texas Commission. The conversation will explore how current and emerging policy discussions are influencing universities, workforce development, research priorities and the broader innovation ecosystem and touch on how rapid changes in technology are shaping legislative conversation— and what that could mean for the future of education, business and regional competitiveness.   
PM Pints is a quarterly evening event hosted by the City’s Economic Development Department.

T(h)inker Thursdays – Roll for Initiative 

The most famous tabletop roleplaying game in the world uses the iconic 20-sided die to determine success or failure in your adventures, but what is the actual probability of a good outcome? Learn about the math behind the adventure with your own 20-sided die. This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for kids ages 9-12 only.

Dolly Day with the RSO 

Come celebrate literacy-loving Dolly Parton by enjoying a performance of her music adapted for a Richardson Symphony Orchestra string quartet, then participate in a discussion of her biography titled “Ain’t Nobody’s Fool: The Life and Times of Dolly Parton.” This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for teens and adults.

Adaptive Summer Adult Venture Days

This is the perfect opportunity for adults with special needs to venture out from home during the summer to explore new activities outdoors and indoors to help increase their cognitive, physical and social skills all while having fun in a group setting.

Super Pickle: A Musical Parody 

Get ready to serve up the laughs with a wildly entertaining new comedy that dives paddle-first into the pickleball craze sweeping the nation. A laugh-out-loud comedy with clever pop song parodies and big characters, it pits seasoned players against eager newbies in a hilarious battle of skill and sass.

Teen Program – Mad Hatter’s Lock Box

Team up with other teens in this lock box challenge. With quirky riddles and whimsical puzzles full of Wonderland charm, you must outwit the Queen of Hearts and help the Mad Hatter before time runs out. Can you figure out your team’s locks first? Prizes will be awarded. This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for teens ages 13-18.

The Unhuggables from Wildlife on the Move 

All the critters you thought you hated. Relax with R.O.V.E.R. 

On select summer Saturdays, weather permitting, the Richardson Public Library will pop up at Huffhines Park with relaxing, drop-in activities. Try simple mindfulness techniques, enjoy creative art activities, or unwind with a quiet game while learning about library resources and upcoming programs. This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for teens and adults.

3rd Saturday Guided Boardwalk Tour 

Join the John Bunker Sands Wetland to learn about the special ecosystem’s flora and fauna and the fascinating history of the property. Topics also include the innovative design of the wetland, the relationship the wetland has with water supply and the interaction between human engineering and nature.

That Good Ol’ Summertime 

As we settle into the Texas summertime, the Richardson Community Band offers a wonderful evening of inspiring music of vast variety. Everyone can “get a slice” of musical pie, as the band performs music from video games, like “Pokemon Red and Blue March,” to timeless folk songs like “Shenandoah.”

Messy Baby Mondays 

Let’s build motor skills, explore process art and have some messy fun at the Richardson Public Library this summer. Just remember to dress for the mess. Backup clothing, baby wipes and/or towels are recommended. This program is for kids ages 6 weeks to 18 months. Babies must be accompanied by at least one adult.
